Risk Management Auditing & Training
There is an element of risk in all we do. Workplaces, especially those at sea, are dynamic and risks constantly change in shape, probabilities and exposure. But it’s clear from the evidence that the current safety measures alone aren’t managing risk effectively and delivering the required outcomes.
The management of Safety is perhaps the most practical of all the risk management disciplines. Accidents, injuries, equipment damage and environmental pollution are all visible consequences of inadequate risk management.
In response to the increasing awareness of the value of proactive risk management (as well as the introduction of the international ISO 31 000 Risk Management Standard), we have developed a new suite of auditing and training services to assist the maritime industry in meeting the risk management challenge.
It’s about a new way of thinking. It’s all about RISK……
ON-SITE RISK AUDITING
Independent physical risk audits can be particularly useful in identifying hazards, assessing risks and identifying control measures. We can conduct an audit, and present you with a comprehensive report (with photographic evidence), based on the above. In addition, we can assist with the development of detailed company-specific risk management programs, mentoring and training.
It’s all about RISK…
We have now developed 4 risk-focussed in-house training workshops. As in-house sessions, these workshops can be particularly effective when utilising company-specific guidelines and conditions.
Operational Risk Management (ORM)
This practical 1-day workshop, aimed at operators and supervisors, will provide delegates with the necessary tools to effectively recognise, assess and proactively control workplace risk on a daily basis.
Risk Management for Safety Professionals
This 2-day workshop is aimed at safety professionals and senior management personnel. The latest risk management theories, strategies and standards (including ISO 31 000) will be examined, culminating in a practical plan of action for implementation.
Understanding Risk & Risk-taking Behaviour
An intensive 2-day workshop, examining the psychological processes behind risk-taking behaviour. This session will focus on developing practical strategies to identify and manage the factors behind the often unpredictable behaviours evident in the workplace, and will be of particular benefit to professionals seeking an understanding of the “human factor” in safety.
Introduction to ISO 31 000
This introductory 1-day workshop will provide delegates with a good understanding of the intent, implementation requirements and the practical mechanics of implementation of the new international ISO 31 000 Risk Management Standard.
